We spent a couple of days in Perthshire from 18 - 20 October 2008 hoping to see the beautiful Autumn colours. We were lucky with our timing and did catch some stunning colours especially at The Hermitage in Dunkeld.
The Hermitage was created as a landscape garden by the Duke of Atholl, complete with two follies, Ossian’s Hall and Ossian’s Cave. The Hermitage is now owned by the National Trust.
There’s a large car park at The Hermitage with charges unless you’re a National Trust Member. It’s a short, level walk from the car park to the Falls of Braan.
If you want to do a longer walk there’s a circular walk to the nearby town of Dunkeld.
